Barcelona Nightlights Tour - Barcelona Nightlights

Rather than settling down at night, Barcelona puts on evening dress and changes the tune. This tour allows you to see Barcelona by night, finishing in one of the popular nightlife areas such as the Olympic Port or Maremagnum.

Arc de Triomf: > The entrance to the 1888 Exhibition, the Arch is found at the top of a wide avenue with lovely Modernist lamp posts leading down to Ciutadella Park.

Passeig de Gràcia: > This beautiful central boulevard is known for its luxury and design shops and famous international brands. You will find several Modernist buildings including two houses by Gaudí: Casa Batllò and Casa Milà or “La Pedrera” a residential building declared World Heritage by UNESCO.

La Sagrada Família Stop: > Unfinished temple of the genius architect Antoni Gaudí, who dedicated the latter part of his life to this work, synthesis of his overall conception of architecture. The richness of detail and its significance need explaining in order to appreciate this fascinating and extraordinary building in full.

Plaça d’Espanya: > This square was built for the International Exhibition in 1929. The two Venetian towers marked the entrance to the main avenue which gave access to the pavilions on Montjuïc hill. The square has become a nerve centre of the city.

MONTJUÏC FOUNTAIN Stop: > A spectacular show of water, lights and music; the original fountain was built in 1929.

Montjuïc Hill: > As a CULTURAL attraction it includes: Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC), Caixafòrum cultural foundation, Fundació Miró, the German Pavilion (Miess Van der Rohe) of 1929 and Poble Espanyol (Spanish Village); and as a SPORTS attraction: the Olympic Ring.

Olympic Ring: > the nerve centre of the Olympic Games, it includes the Olympic Stadium, St Jordi Pavilion, Picornell swimming pools, the University of Sport, Calatrava Communications Tower, etc.

Mirador de l’Alcalde (the Mayor’s Lookout) Stop: > This balcony over the Mediterranean offers a panoramic view over the whole city and port. There is a monument here dedicated to the typical Catalan dance, the Sardana.

Monument to Columbus: > Between La Rambla and the sea beside the medieval Drassanes, which house the Maritime Museum, the Columbus column was built to commemorate Columbus’ return from America which was to the city of Barcelona where he was met by the Catholic Kings.

The Old Port: > In 1995 the Old Port was converted into a popular city port near the city centre. There are many attractions such as the Aquarium, Imax cinema, restaurants, nightclubs and shops as well as sailing clubs.

Olympic Port End: > Built for the 1992 Olympic Games and presided over by the Hotel Arts and Mapfre towers it is an interesting example of modern urban architecture.

The guide can finish here, allowing the tour members to continue the night as they wish and return when they want to, or take the group back to the hotel and finish there if they prefer.
