Scale up and take in the site of World Expo 2010 Similar to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Lupu Bridge also functions as a sightseeing attraction. But unlike the Nanpu Bridge and Yangpu Bridge (also in Shanghai and cross the same Huangpu River), the viewing platform of the Lupu Bridge is installed at the top of its giant-bow-like arch lib, which not only greatly enhance the viewing scope, but also enable sightseers to enjoy the 300-step-plus walk up the “slope” along the arch rib, making the experience more interesting and unforgettable.
Sightseers will take the high-speed transparent elevator up to the main deck of the bridge, walk up the steps of the pathway along the arch rib—the back of this “giant-bow”-- for about 280 meters, reaching the viewing platform about the size of a basketball field at top of the 100-meter high arch rib, and taking in the breath-taking scenery of the Huangpu River.
