DAY 1: Airport Pick-up
We will meet you in the airport in Guilin and then drive you to your hotel in in the city to stay the night.
DAY 2: Guilin-Shanjiang
Wind and Rain Bridge Zaoxing
We will leave the hotel at 8am and drive to Shanjiang minority village. On the way, you can see rice terraces, traditional buildings. We will recommend certain places to stop although we can of course stop anywhere that you feel is particularly beautiful or presents a good photo opportunity.When we arrive in Shanjiang we can vist a famous 'Wind and Rain' bridge and explore the area. We will stay the night in Shanjiang.
DAY 3: Shangjiang-Zhaoxing
Shangjiang Dong Minority Lady
We will leave for Zhao Xing at 8:00 am. On the way there are lots of attractions, some of which we can stop to see. We will arrive in Zhao Xing which is the largest and oldest Dong village in China and the world. There are five Drum Towers, Wind & Rain Bridges and traditional stages. The place and culture is very much in harmony with nature and is a far cry from the urban lifestyle that many of us are accustomed to. We will stay in Zhaoxing hotel.
DAY 4: ZhaoXing-Basha- Gaozeng- Congjiang
A Miao Minority Village Gaozeng Pagoda
Again we will leave at 8 am and drive for 3 hours from Zhao Xing to the Miao Minority Village called Basha. The villagers still practice their unique traditions dating back to the Qing Dynasty (about 2200 years ago). It has been left virtually untouched by modernization and tourism. Residents there still live in their wooden houses, preserving and practicing centuries-old customs.
In the afternoon we will go to Gaozeng Dong Minority village which is six hundred years old. Few tourists visit here. It is famous for its Drum towers, built in the Qing Dynasty. The scenery is particularly pretty here. We'll go back to stay the night in a town called Congjiang.
DAY 5: Congjiang- Guilin
Yao Mountain Village A Wind and Rain Bridge
At 8 am we'll head back to Guilin by car. This is quite a long trip. We'll stop and have lunch on the way. When we arrive in Guilin in the afternoon, we'll visit Elephant Flag Hill. It's the most famous attraction in the city. We'll stay overnight.
DAY 6: Li River Cruise from Guilin—Yangshuo.
The Li River Yangshuo Countryside
Meet at the hotel at 8:00 and we drive you to Zhu Jiang Pier. It takes four and a half hours to cruise to Yangshuo from Guilin. The Li River is often referred to as a one-hundred-kilometre gallery. Green hills, blue water, fresh bamboo and the reflections of the mountains in the water have been captured in countless Chinese traditional paintings. Have lunch onboard and disembark in Yangshuo at around 1:00 pm.
Visit West Street which is lined with old buildings, but also has a cosmopolitan modern feel. We'll take an open-air shuttle bus out into the countryside to see more of the karst mountain landscape and farmland. We'll spend two hours touring around the countryside by bus, stopping at Moon Hill and a bridge over the Yulong River. The scenery here is also spectacular.
Be transferred to the airport for the next travel destination.
