Day of arrival:
22:00 Arrival and pick-up at Keflavik Airport and transfer to hotel.
Day one:
09:00 Reykjavik City Sightseeing
12:00 Lunch
13:00 Whale Watching, Horse Riding, visit to museums or other activities. Free late afternoon and evening (Optional: Swimming in one of the many open air swimming pools in Reykjavik, open the whole year)
Day two:
08:30 Departure for drive to West and North Iceland. Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Snaefellsnes mystical glacier and volcano, magnificent coastline, shark processing, fishing villages, boat trip on Breidafjordur bay. Overnight farm accommodation.
Day three:
North-west Iceland: Mixture of coast and countryside. Natural wonders and historical sites. Dinner and overnight stay in Akureyri, capital of the north.
Day four:
Visit to Myvatn, second biggest lake in Iceland. Beautiful volcanic scenery and unique bird life. Active geothermal and volcanic area. Visit to glacial river Jokulsa and Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Iceland. Overnight stay at a country hotel.
Day five:
Drive on primitive tracks, crossing unbridged rivers, through the uninhabited interior highland, Sprengisandur. In the afternoon visit to Landmannalaugar, a colorful volcanic landscape with the possibility of a relaxing bath in a natural pool. Visit to Hekla, the mighty volcano and dinner and overnight stay in a country hotel.
Day six:
South coast: Reynisdrangar and Dyrholaey, beautiful scenery and rich bird life. In the afternoon crossing unbridged rivers to visit spectacular nature reserve Thorsmork, paradise for the nature lover. Overnight stay in country hotel.
Day seven:
Visit to Gullfoss, the beautiful and mighty 'Golden Waterfall' and 'Geysir', a geothermal area with active spouting hot springs, one of them is the one and only 'Geysir', which gives name to all other spouting hot springs in the world. In the afternoon, on the way to Reykjavik, we visit Thingvellir, a historical National Park, where the first democratically elected parliament in the world was established in the year 930. Thingvellir is also an interesting geological and volcanic area, with a rift valley where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates can be seen drifting apart. Back in Reykjavik in the afternoon, with a free evening. Overnight stay in Reykjavik.
Day of departure:
05:30 transfer from Hotel to Keflavik airport, for departure at 08:00.
