ITINERARY
If you have little time in Cracow it is possible to organize Auschwitz and Wieliczka tour in one day. In this way we will start a bit earlier and will focus on Auschwitz-Birkenau for 3 hours. Then we will take you to Wieliczka. All our tour are individual and privatelly guided. You decide about the pace of the visit and have a direct contact with your guide.
TRIP ITINERARY:
AUSCHWITZ - BIRKENAU
09:00 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. - Transfer from Cracow through Monowitz (former IG Farben) to Auschwitz Museum
10:30 p.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Visit to Auschwitz I Museum Exhibition - Concentration Camp and international symbol of Holocaust.
12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. - coffee/snack break
12:30 p.m. - 01:30 p.m. Visit to Birkeanu Museum Exhibition - Extermination Camp
01:45 p.m. - 03.30 p.m. Transfer from Oswiecim to Wieliczka
WIELICZKA
04:00 p.m. - 06:30 p.m. - visit to the Salt Mine in Wieliczka - you will have a chance to explore one of the biggest Polish tourist attractions, the oldest Salt Mine in Europe, inscribed in UNESCO's 1st World List of Cultural and Natural Heritage (tickets: 60 PLN per person = approx. 16 Euro); on the way back we can climb one of the artificial mounds in Cracow to enjoy the breathtaking city panorama
06.30 - 07.00 p.m. - transfer back to your hotel in Cracow
The largest German Nazi Concentration and since 1942 Death Camp build on the occupied Polish territory. Operating since May 1940 to January 1945. Within this time the camp system was developed to over 50 sub-camps abusing the slave workforce of Auschwitz prisoners. Since 1942 Birkenau was chosen to be the mass extermination center of European Jewry. It is estimated that about 1,3 million people, mainly Jews were murdered in Auschwitz-Birkenau. Since 1947 territory of former camp was changed into State Museum.
