The artisans'workshops of Florence

The Oltrarno is the southern district of Florence where craftmen used to live and had their workshops since the Middle Ages. Often forgotten by the tourists, this district is considered as the most pictoresque area of the city. Come with us to admire hidden jewels: the church of Santa Felicita and that of Santo Spirito, planned by the great Renaissance arquitect Brunelleschi! But above all, come with us to visit the typical artisans's workshops: you will  see how gold is worked and transformed into beautiful jewels and learn the ancient 'lost-wax technique' used to cast bronze! Skillful artisans will create in front of you the renowned 'Florentine marbled paper' or, if you prefer, you will see the show room of a persona dresser or a workshop where old pieces of furniture are restored!
