The Museum of San Marco is located in the former convent where Fra Angelico lived and worked in the years 1440-1450. It is possible to visit the small cells, each one with different frescoes depicting episodes and scenes from the Bible, the library planned by Michelozzo and the rooms of the former convent with painting by Fra Bartolomeo.
Cenacolo di Sant’Apollonia with the last supper by Andrea del Castagno is one of the most important applications of perspective. Discovered only in 1860 when the monastery ceased to exist it gives a better understanding of Early Renaissance painting and of the drawings underlying the frescoes wall
