Discover the Belize Maya Caves on an exhilarating ATV adventure circuit. You'll drive through the jungle on an ATV, go on a hike to explore the ancient traditions of the Maya, then float through an underground cave system on your own inner tube. It's a Belize rainforest adventure you'll never forget!
On arrival at Pecarry Park Adventure Center, your experienced guides will brief you on safety procedures for ATV handling. They'll also outline the route you'll be taking, and issue protective gear and helmets in preparation for your ATV adventure!
Then you're off to explore the jungles of Belize by ATV, following trails laid out over 100 years ago by loggers in search of precious mahogany trees. The trails are a good mix of levels of challenging terrain, leading to the stop of the day - the Maya Caves. Here you'll explore caves used by the Maya thousands of years ago. As you explore, be on the lookout for ancient ceramic pots, lying forgotten for centuries.
After lunch at Caves Branch National Park, your adventure continues with a 45-minute jungle hike. Along the way, your guide will point out various plants, roots and herbs used by the Maya thousands of years ago.
Then, at the entrance tunnel that heads into the underground cave system, your guide will hand out flash lights and you are ready to float through the cave system in your inner tube assisted by the water's gentle currents.
A change of clothes, shoes and towel is recommended.
