Spend a day with us visiting the spectacular highlands of Donegal, one of Irelands most desolate yet spectacular regions. Our journey will include Letterkenny, Donegals biggest town from where we travel to Gartan Lake, home of St Columba, patron saint of Derry and founder of the Iona monastery in Scotland. We go through Kilmacrennan and Termon where we travel to the fabulous Glenveagh National Park where we can enjoy the fabulous gardens and walks (where red deer and a myriad of wildlife can be viewed) and pay a visit to Glenveagh castle with guided tours available on request. Tea and coffee are also available at the castle and visitor centre.
Following Glenveagh we travel to the breathtaking Poison Glen home of the wonderful Dunlewey centre which offers boat trips, weaving demonstrations and an open farm in the shadow of Mount Errigal, Donegals highest peak.Lunch will be available at the centre which also houses a large gift shop where all staff use the national language of Gaelic as their normal means of conversing- you may even learn a few words (cupla focal) to take home with you!
