Roman City of saintes and Cognac wine tasting

The historical Capital of the Saintonges region allies both the charm of its southern white facades and pink tiled roofs with well preserved antic and Romanesque monuments. The city is considered one of the Architectural Jewels of France. Visit of this town and then off to Cognac. Because wine travelled poorly by sea, the European merchants decided to try burning it, hence was discovered “the liquor of the Gods” now called Cognac, a town that lies an hour and a half North of Bordeaux. The soft flowing river and the gentle rolling countryside of the Charente preciously hide the secrets of the world famous brandy.
