Small villages of the Garonne

Depart for an authentic discovery of the Entre-deux-mers area. After a drive along the Garonne River lined with Mansions and Chateaus, arrive in St Macaire. This Medieval village is unique as unlike its neighbours it has preserved nearly all its heritage: walls, gates, houses that contribute to the typical atmosphere one can find here. After the visit, drive to La Sauve Majeure to discover one of the most spectacular monuments of the region. Founded in 1079, the Benedictine Abbey still retains some of the most beautiful Romanesque capitals of southern France. Visit of the Abbey and return to Bordeaux.
