The priceless furniture, extraordinary clocks, splendid fresco paintings, outstanding tapestries, inventive rugs, the astonishing porcelain room and stucco chamber, beautiful sculptures, the royal silver wares and table services, are some of the Palace’s decorative masterpieces which will overwhelm you. And this is not all. The grandeur of the Royal Armoury Museum will impress you . Why ? Because of the armouries of Emperor Charles V and King Phillip II which have a supreme significance in the History of Arts. You will notice this, watching the draws and drafts of those armouries made by Helmschmied, Grossschaedel, Negroli, and other artists of that period. Simply one of the most imposing exposition of armoury decoration.
Our guide will bring you afterwards to 3 wonderful museums: the Prado Museum Masterpieces Tour is a marvellous trip through the amazing secrets of Rogier Van der Weyden, Bosch, Tintoretto, Titian, El Greco, Caravaggio, Rubens, Ribera, Velázquez, Murillo, and Francisco de Goya. The Thyssen Bornemisza Museum, which is worth visiting not only as an example of excellent building refurbishment, but for its rich collection of paintings, from the Romanesque period until the late 20th century, with emphasis on the German Expressionists, and the Reina Sofía Modern Art Centre which offers splendid temporary expositions. Its standard Collection includes attractive paintings and sculptures of the past century: Picasso, Juan Gris, Miró, Dalí, Domínguez, Tapies and the Spanish Expressionists, among others.
