LAS DESCALZAS & ENCARNACION CONVENTS + Strolls...

FIRST OF ALL, please note that the regular visits of these convents are only in groups of 20 persons and in Spanish language only. With us, YOU will enjoy a private Museum Tour and in your native language.

Our Tour starts with the Descalzas Convent, honoured in 1.987 with the Best European Museum award.

Afterwards we will Tour the Encarnación Convent. Both cloisters are a sort of reminder of the XV to XVII century which still last in this New Technologies Era. In fact, here you will come to know the mentality and customs of the Spanish Counter Reformation Period, about 4 centuries ago. Beside the incredible peaceful oasis of its atmosphere, you will be dazzled with the exhuberant wall carpets, made up from Rubens drawings, of the Tapestry Room (Descalzas), or the unaccustomed Reliquary of the Encarnación. Truly, this is one of the most original and surprising Tours that we can offer to you in Madrid. 

After this such a rich artistic and cultural 'immersion', we will enjoy an urban one :  the architectural and town planning brilliance left by the Spanish Austria and Bourbon Crowns.
