A 3-hour walking tour which aims to give you an in-depth understanding of the ancient city with its magnificent Cathedral, the Duomo, and the neighbouring Baptistery which boasts Ghiberti’s exquisite bronze doors.
We start off inside the Duomo where we can admire the architectural techniques used by Brunelleschi to build the dome. Next on the tour are some of the city’s most stunning piazzas, starting with Santa Croce and its awe-inspiring church, home to some of Giotto’s most beautiful frescoes.
Then it is on to Piazza della Signoria, the city’s political center, both ancient and modern, where the imposing Palazzo Vecchio stands. We then walk down to the Ponte Vecchio and take in its magnificent views, before heading for the Accademia Museum to see Michelangelo’s David, jumping the queues with our pre-booked tickets.
