A 2:30 hour walking trip through time and film.
Starting from your clients hotel, along the Croisette, a must is the « Former Festival Palalce » (now hotel) where the 1947 to 1982 editions of the Film Festival were held.
Every year, the big hotels that run along receive international film stars, and have been the stage of famous productions such as Alfred Hitchcock’s To catch a thief with Grace Kelly and Cary Grant, in which the action takes place at the Carlton.
Then we reach the mythical « Palais des Festivals » an its « steps » where the stars have been parading since 1983 Festival, then by passing throught the Allées de la Liberté and the 19th century Old Port, we come to the medieval town set on le Suquet mound, protected by its fortress and Notre Dame d’Esperance church, overlooking the bay of Cannes, the Lérins Islands and the end of la Croisette where one can see the famous Palm Beach Club where was shot Henri Verneuil’s Any Number Can Win with Jean Gabin and Alain Delon .
On our itinerary we will visit some of the town’s painted walls : famous couples of the cinema, Gérard Philipe, Marilyn Monroe, Festival posters, the Lumiere brothers, before returning at the sea front. The famous sea-front avenue, la Croisette, appears in front of us like on a screen, and evocates several movies such as Brian de Palma’s Femme Fatale with Antonio Banderas or John Frankenheimer’s Ronin with Robert de Niro and Jean Reno.
