Do not be afraid to bring your kids to the Vatican, no trip to Rome is complete without visiting it.
The best approach is to concentrate on some highlights in the Museums, like admire a hand-made tapestry decorated with bees, look for Italy on a 400-year old map then reach the Sistine Chapel and gasp
at the huge figures painted by Michelangelo.
St Peter’s Basilica is gigantic, as long as two football fields, and the names of shorter churches are all over the floor. Hundreds of columns, statues, a golden skeleton and the real bodies of Popes are displayed.
We will also include a stop at Castel Sant'Angelo, very popular with children as it combines an ancient tomb, a fortress, a prison, a castle, torture chambers and a museum, topped by a spectacular view of Rome and the Vatican.
