For 800 years the tiny island of Murano has been a renowned centre of glassmaking. The goblets, bowls, chandeliers and mirrors decorated elegant residences of the European aristocracy.
Today, besides the mass production, there’s still a limited number of independent glass artists able to bring this art to its highest level, combining traditional crafting techniques and modern design.
The highly creative results of these laboratories of ideas and experiments will later be seen in the world’s major art galleries and contemporary art museums.
This tour takes you into some private ateliers (only on appointment), updating you on the latest developments of Murano glass art.
The itinerary can be customized and depends on the artists’ availability.
